What We’ll Ask You (and Why)
1. When Is Your Wedding?
Early planning gives you the best selection, but we are well known for accommodating tight timelines as well.
We proudly serve many military couples and understand the challenges of deployments and demanding schedules. No matter where you or your wedding party are located, we work within your time frames to ensure a seamless experience.
San Diego is a destination wedding city, so advance planning is always encouraged—but never required.
2. Where Is the Wedding, and What Time of Day?
The location and time of your wedding help us recommend attire that is appropriate and polished.
- A formal evening wedding at a luxury hotel calls for a classic tuxedo
- A beach, vineyard, or daytime wedding may call for a lighter, more relaxed look
Our job is to make sure you don’t end up wearing the wrong attire for the wrong setting—and we won’t let that happen.
3. Is the Bride’s Gown Long or Short?
The bride’s gown sets the level of formality for the wedding.
- If the gown is long or has a train, a tuxedo is usually the right choice
- If the gown is less formal, a suit may be appropriate
The groom doesn’t need to outshine the bride—but he should be on the same level of formality. We specialize in tuxedos that look refined and elevated without feeling overly formal when that’s not the goal.
4. How Many Tuxedos Will You Need?
Knowing the size of the wedding party helps us:
- Plan measurements efficiently
- Secure the best pricing
- Coordinate looks for different roles
We also consider groomsmen, fathers of the bride and groom, ring bearers, and ushers.
Our philosophy:
- The groom should complement the bride
- The groomsmen should complement the bridesmaids
- The father of the bride should be elevated and polished, especially when walking the bride down the aisle
5. What Look Are You Going For?
This is your wedding—it’s all about your vision.
- Have a specific look in mind? We can execute it.
- Want guidance or ideas? We’re happy to help.
- Have inspiration photos? Bring them in.
After You Choose the Attire
- We register your wedding and wedding party
- A small deposit and credit card imprint reserve your styles
- We set a target date for measurements
Groomsmen can be measured in our shop or at any reputable tuxedo shop near them for a complimentary fitting. Tuxedo shops routinely measure for one another—it’s standard practice.
A $20 deposit is collected for in-shop measurements and applied to the rental total.
While We’re Preparing Your Wedding
- We track incoming measurements
- Reserve appropriate sizes
- Monitor who still needs to be measured
- Keep the groom updated every step of the way
The Week of the Wedding
Tuxedos are typically ready 2–3 days before the wedding. For a Saturday or Sunday wedding, pick-up is usually Thursday.
- Each man tries on his tux or suit
- We check the fit from head to toe, including shoes
- Adjustments are made on the spot if needed
- The final balance is paid
- Tuxedos are bagged and ready to go
Everything is done early so there’s time for perfection—and peace of mind.
Returns
Tuxedos are returned the day after use, or by an agreed-upon date. If you need flexibility, just let us know in advance—we’re happy to accommodate.
